Welcome to The Control Switchfacing our limits, finding God’s power.

Priscilla Morrison

We all struggle with the issue of control. None of us is in total control, and there are times when that fact is very difficult. The question is: “How do we handle it when things spin out of control?

As we explore this question together, I hope this website will be a resting place, a place of comfort and hope and help. There is so much comfort to be found in our great God. So please explore. And by all means, leave your “heart print” by commenting and sharing your thoughts. We learn and grow together. May God bless you and draw you closer.

  1. Brava, Pricilla! I have been studying control lately and thus reading books re. control vs love.
Actually it is said that it is not fear which is the opposite of love, but actually control…because
fear is argued to be a result of a feeling of lack of control. Love on the other hand, among a library of other things, is freedom, openness, ecc.
May you be a channel for the light of truth in the world, xo, Bunny

    • The Control Switch says:

Thank you for listening today and for taking the time to respond. I will be praying for you and your wife. Facing up to our sin is difficult, but it is also the first step in recovery. You are seeing reality. I can encourage you that as you repent and ask the Holy Spirit to give you a renewed mind, that His peace will help you to let go in those areas you are grasping for control. If you haven’t already, I would ask your wife’s forgiveness humbly and sincerely. But after that, your biggest challenge will be to not try to “make” her return. This is a test. Is God in control? Is He loving? Does He know the situation? Yes! You can be assured that He does. Not only that, He loves to take all our mistakes and our broken situations and turn them into something good, teaching us about His loving character along the way. “Delight yourself in the, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” [Psalm 37:4-7b] One last thing, in my book I discuss 10 different ways we tend to struggle for control. Perhaps there will be something there that can help you identify the causes for your tendancy to control. May God give you wisdom, strength and peace.

Glad you are walking through the doors the Lord is opening for you, Priscilla! My prayer is that many will be able to learn vicariously from all the Lord has brought you through and be drawn closer Him!

I am privileged to know you and have been blessed by our walks of long ago and your opening your home for my daughter’s friends from Texas who had driven to New Jersey for the occasion of her wedding.

I also remember your wisdom in admonishing me to believe in someone for whom they could become in the Lord, not necessarily who they are at this moment, and to pray to that end.

  11. Arlene Boryschuk says:

This sight is very good. It took me a while to get too it. I get so many political emails that the delete. God has been good to you and you are helping all of us women to “be like Jesus.” God bless you.

I”m so proud of you, my old and dear friend. You have come so far and accomplished so much through God’s grace. Your website is great and I’m truly looking forward to reading your book! Grasping for control far more than I care to admit, I’m hoping I will learn from your lessons!

  13. Gail Jarvis says:

Thank you for having the courage through His grace to address an issue that many of us have and struggle with on a daily basis. It is amazing when God works in our hearts and frees us of the reponsibility we place on ourselves to control the environment we live in and people we interact with. It is such a blessing to gradually evolve from a Martha to a Mary. Situations that at one time caused stress and anxiety now bring joy and thankgiving!

  14. Brigid Falasca says:

Excited for you Priscilla as the Lord leads you down a great path! There are so many controlling women in the Bible…especially pushy for their children. This I assume could be the Old Testament’s version of the pushy sports parent…ie.Rebekah and her favorite son Jacob. It amazes me as the Lord shows me what not to do and still I am tempted to control it!!
I can’t wait to read your new book!

  15. Bruce Robbins says:
